MCD serves as the lead youth agency in Service Planning Area 6 (SPA6) of South LA in the countywide Coordinated Entry System (CES) which aims to effectively address the homeless epidemic in LA.  We are responsible for coordinating and strengthening collaboration among partners serving youth experiencing homelessness in SPA6. This includes access, initial assessment, regional case conferencing, housing navigation, and priority matching to housing resources that best fit the individual’s needs.

Ruth’s Place is a central access point in South LA where youth experiencing homelessness are connected to services an housing resources through the CES which offers a ‘no wrong door’ method to serving youth.  Our team works to provide them access, match & assist, and house the youth seeking services.
